Hey, this is my web page. I'm the only one in the band who wants to have a personal website. Here, you can see what has have happend in my amazing mundane life, some music theory splurge I throw on here, and my current 100 freestyle time. Or whatever I feel like posting on here.
Song of the Month
"Just Friends" by Pat Martino.
This guy is one of my favorite jazz guitarist. He just has this way of laying down those lines that make his style unique. This song I like especially not only because of the great solo by Martino, but the sound of the organ in this song just is awesome. The organ is one of my most favorite instruments due to its diversity and tone. I wish I could play it but I'm coordinated enough to do three+ parts at once.

Not a whole lot has been happening the last month. Band concert is tomorrow, and our jazz band sucks. Of coarse, I play guitar, and this year I have to share charts with Jake, which has its pros and cons. It's good, because I don't have to play all the songs, but since Jake isn't as, how can I put this lightly, fluent in jazz guitar, so I have to play the not-so-fun hard jazz songs. I don't blame him for not being as good; jazz is hard and it's his first year in jazz band. On the flipside, I suck at soloing so it all works out. Oh, and I noticed that the pic on this page was a tad bit out-dated but I don't have any good pictures of me lately, so I just chucked it. Expect to see another soon (by "soon" I really mean next month).
Song of the Month
"The Willing Well I: Fuel For The Feeding End" by Coheed and Cambria. On the album "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness"
Yet another cool song that I would do if I had a room full of equiptment and a ton of time. I love the wierd effects, the complicated guitar parts, and just the overall tone of this song. I could write on and on about it, but I think Im just going to say it was good.

So we're going to rerelease our entire album, and Im in charge of recording and mixing. This is going to be a lot of work for me, because I have a lot of stuff going on and Im a perfectionist when it comes to music. This time around, I hope we get everything sounding good, because last time, there were some stuff that wasn't so hot. Swimming has started, and so far it's alright. There's a ton of new people on the team, most haven't even swum before, so the practices are a little easier than last year.
Song of the Month
"Dinah" by Django Reinhardt. As heard on "Djangology".
Honestly couldn't decide what to put for SOTM. This song had a really cool perfomance by Django, so i picked it. I also enjoyed the violin solo by Grappelli. I, being both a guitarist and violinist, can relate to these kind of songs because they really demonstrate what you can do with these instruments if you know what your doing. Oh, and I find Django playing even more impressive considering his left hand ring and pinky fingers were severly burned in an accident early in his guitar playing career. Some off that stuff I can barely play with all four fingers and thumb.

Yep. So we've been busy the past couple of weeks with shows, promoting our new album, etc. Tennis is over, and marching band is finishing up soon, that means swimming is about to start. I this jazz guitar collection for my birthday and i really like it. I think it was this time last year i started to get into jazz music, and now I'm really likeing it. I just the flexablilty of jazz guitar and the freedom you have when you play it. To me, playing flowing scales and riffs on top of semi-dissonant chords is fun. I know. I'm wierd like that. There's nothing better than playing a modal run over those diminished sevenths.
Song of the Month
"Running Out of Time" by Hot Hot Heat. On the album "Elevator".
This is the type of song that I would write if I had a room full of vintage equiptment. It's catchy, cool, and has a chord progression that I actually like. This is hard to do with me, because I normally am dissapointed in the chord progressions in this type of music. These guys do the cool little minor 4th chord you hear in jazz music and old schoo rock n roll and other stuff that makes me think, "these guys know what they're doing". Either that or they have no clue. Hey, whatever.

Happy Birthday to me! Ich bin sechzehn Jahre alt. Sorry, I'm taking German and that happens sometimes. So, I'll be getting me licence in about a month and I'm going to be driving to school via my dad's truck. I like the fact I'm driving a truck, but I'll be honest, I hate driving it. It's a friggin semi. Anyways, I got Halo: Combat Evolved and it is a ton o' fun. I also got Hot Hot Heat's CD Elevator and it is very cool. I like thier happy music. And i got Family Guy's season 1 and 2 on DVD. Very Cool.
Song of the Month...
"Makeout Kids" by Motion City Soundtrack. On the album "Commit This to Memory".
This is just a classic MCS song. I know I've been saying a lot about Motion City Soundtrack lately, but I've recently got thier new album and it is just good. This song in particular stands out for some reason and I especially like the handclaps at the end of the song that are on each beat. It kind of reminds me of those drum machines or those old hand claps on 60's records that sound fake for some reason. Yeah, so that's it.
*if you read this, post a reply in our forum. I don't care where, preferably in the "discuss punk rock" forum under my What I Think About... thread. Just wanna know how many people read this.

Yep. School's about to start. Which means it's TENNIS SEASON. Man, I suck at tennis. I need to get better because I'm pretty much the worst player on my team. All well, i'm just there for fun. My main focus is swimming. We're almost done with the CD and I'm very excited. Comes out around when our school starts. Very cool. Go here http://lifebroken.proboards54.com/index.cgi to see what i have to say about it (in the Life Broken forum page).
